Deposits and day rates

Money first, because it is the thing people are least comfortable asking about and the thing that decides whether you book at all.

A £60 deposit holds your date. It is not a fee on top — it comes off whatever the piece ends up costing. It exists because a chair sitting empty on a Saturday is a day none of us can fill at short notice, and because the drawing happens before you arrive.

Small pieces are charged at the studio minimum of £120. That covers setting up a station, breaking it down afterwards, and the first hour. A piece that takes twenty minutes still costs £120, and that is not us rounding up — it is genuinely what a session costs to run.

Anything longer is a day rate: £350 for a half day, £600 for a full day of up to six hours. Most fine-line work is a half day. Most of Ivo's blackwork runs across two or three full days booked as a block.

Move your date with at least a week's notice and the deposit moves with you. Cancel inside a week, or not turn up, and it stays with the studio. There is no second rule hiding behind that one.

Cover-ups and reworks are the one thing we cannot price from an email. The piece already on you decides how much black is needed and how many sittings it takes, so we quote those after the consultation.
